1. Introduction Clergy wives are historically seen as part of a “two-person” career, working alongside their husbands in various ministerial capacities (Morris and Blanton 1994; Murphy-Geiss 2011). Clergy wives often encounter high expectations from their congregations in relation to their personal, interpersonal, and professional lives beyond their spouse’s ministry. These high standards and expectations often lead to adverse psychological effects (Hileman 2008; Van Dyke Platt and Moss 1976).
