Being an advocate of the people, because that's who you serve. You are the middle man between "the man" and the people.

Microsoft Word, my cell phone, my laptop, the Adobe Creative Cloud, and the classic pen and paper

Why did you become a journalist?
I want to share the truth with the people. There are a lot of things that are hidden that I feel should be brought to light

It was a story for Her Campus called "The Black American Tragedy: The New TV/Film Genre"
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
I am fairly new, but the most common thing that I have heard is that one should be persistent. One shouldn't take no for an answer.

It was more like two pitches in one. One was about how documentaries were growing in popularity, then one about a grad student's indie film.
