In a statement issued by the institution’s spokesperson, Dr. Sammy Kpenu, the University described the claims as baseless and the work of mischief-makers seeking attention and popularity online. Dr. Kpenu clarified that no such incident occurred on campus and urged students, staff, and the general public to disregard the rumour and stop spreading fake news.

In a Facebook post, Sowore claimed that Shaharu, who works in the department that handles new land applications, was detained last Friday at the FCDA Police Post on the orders of Wike’s Chief Security Officer (CSO). Shaharu was allegedly accused of leaking documents that reportedly showed the FCT Minister had allocated large portions of Abuja land to his two underage sons—a story first reported by Peoples Gazette.

But justice, they say, remains elusive. We have been going to court, and the court is willing to hear our matter. But the prosecutor is our problem”, he said.
