For major airlines, systemic chaos is becoming the new norm
After standing overnight for 11 straight hours in an interminably long line at United Airlines' Terminal B in Denver, my wife and I had ample time to ponder the underlying causes of America's ailing air transport system.
Channel Bans for Business Communication Deemed Ineffective at Mitigating Off-channel Communications Risks, New Study Finds
In light of a series of regulatory actions in the United States, the majority (59%) of firms have banned the use of WhatsApp, WeChat, and similar applications according to new research released today by Global Relay, the leading provider of electronic communication compliance and archiving solutions. Despite the majority taking this approach, only 3% strongly believe that channel bans are an effective solution to ensure compliant communications at their organization.
Stephen Spielberg's fable for our times
When Stephen Spielberg started filming "The Fabelmans" - an aptly named tale of family, marriage, art and suffering - he couldn't have known how relevant it might be. Or maybe he did. After all, the creator of "Schindler's List," the 1993 Academy Award-winning drama about saving Polish-Jewish refugees from the Holocaust, already had plumbed the depths of the persistent historical evil of antisemitism.
Great Teachers: Freedom’s First Responders
Citing “a war on educators,” Williams shared a text from a worried teacher who said she was “bracing myself” for attacks by self-appointed classroom censors. Even though the cynical efforts at censorship didn’t gain much traction in the 2022 General Assembly, the entire episode remains alarming—yet also instructive for Virginia’s educators.

hat tip - Jodi’s Tids Study Claims 255,000 ‘Excess Votes’ for Biden in Battleground States A new study into 2020 election discrepancies in six battleground states claims that there were at least 250,000 “excess votes” for Joe Biden, and potentially many more. War for a Reason
Donald Trump did more to strengthen America and make it work for its citizens that has any other President in our history. This is why the Left hated him. He stood in the way of the Globalists’ planned destruction of our nation, which had been progressing for decades under the likes of Carter, Clinton, Bushes 41 and 43 and Obama. Trump removed burdensome regulation and got our economy roaring once again. Last year, I wrote of over 150 accomplishments made by President Trump, for all of our people.
Update!
Hello Patriots! This is just a brief update on Robin’s and my situations. First, a big ‘Thank You’ to Watchman for taking care of the site in our dual absences. Good job (and keep posting please!)! Robin has been quite ill, and taking care of Rick too. He is often hospitalized with cancer treatments and complications. Robin’s health has suffered in the last year with a blood clot and she is still quite weak as a result. She hopes to replace her computer and be back soon.

Nolte: Democrats, Media Willing to Risk WWIII with Russia to Win 2022 Midterms
The corporate media and Democrats are whipping up a moral panic around Ukraine that could deliver us right into World War III, all in an effort to win the 2022 midterms — and it looks as if more and more Republicans are falling for it. Past is prologue, so let’s look at the recent past as a means to understand what’s happening. Five years ago, all in an effort to overthrow a duly elected President Trump, Democrats, the media, and the Deep State fabricated the Russia Collusion Hoax.
The Diminishing Returns of the Democrats’ Lies
Forcedinto a state of panic by a series of cataclysmic polls, the Democratic Party has entered a new phase in its attempt to turn around its waning fortunes: lying directly — and unashamedly — to your face. To paraphrase Elena Gorokhova, “You know they are lying, they know they are lying, they know you know they are lying, you know they know you know they are lying, but they are still lying.” About what? About everything, that’s what.
The real reasons why Ukraine is so important To Biden, Clinton and their ‘global crime cabal’
If anyone needed to see the ‘bigger picture‘ of everything now happening in Ukraine, Russia, here in America and all across the world, we get it in numerous new stories out recently, and some time ago, across the internet.
5 Ways Biden is Crippling American Energy Independence
The Russian invasion of Ukraine highlights the strategic importance of American energy independence. Unfortunately, President Biden has taken various actions hostile to American Energy development. After campaigning to “get rid of fossil fuels” and promising “no new fracking” during his administration, President Biden came into office and immediately canceled vital energy projects, prevented new drilling leases and threatened new tax hikes on American energy.
A Malfunctioning Joe Biden Delivers an Incoherent Speech on a Dead Agenda
Joe Biden’s State of the Union lingered far too long, but the general theme was made clear within the first 30 minutes: This is a man with no accomplishments and he knows it. Honestly, even as a conservative, I expected more. Biden’s speech was badly written, devoid of memorable moments, and came across as a rehash of everything he’s been saying for the last two years.
Understanding the Ukraine\Russian Conflict
I always like to look past the headlines to see what’s really going on. Things are rarely as they seem. But it can be difficult to discern the truth because there is so much propaganda and disinformation coming from both sides. So, what’s really going on in the Ukraine\Russia conflict? We should begin with the understanding that Ukraine has always been in a tug-of-war of sorts between the West and the East. With that in mind, let’s review what we know so far.
Beijing says Taiwan is 'not Ukraine,' has always been part of China
China's foreign ministry on Wednesday said Taiwan is "not Ukraine" and has always been a part of China amid Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen's calls to ramp up vigilance on military activities in response to the crisis in Ukraine. Foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying dismissed the concerns of British Prime MinisterBoris Johnson, who said there might be worldwide consequences, including for Taiwan, if Western nations failed to support Ukraine's independence, according to Reuters.
Has Anyone Actually Seen Anthony Fauci Recently?
Once prominent on virtually every media outlet available, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the Chief Medical Advisor to the President, seems to have disappeared without a trace. He was seemingly last spotted a week ago, giving an interview to Reuters, which reported that Fauci says that it’s time to start “inching” back to normal.
The Crazy Politics Of The Squad Are Backfiring On The Democrats
Millions of Americans have known for years now that the politics of people like AOC and Ilhan Omar are crazy and way too far left. Democrats are just beginning to figure this out now, and they know it’s hurting them too. The midterms are coming and Democrats are trying to figure out something, anything they can do to save them from their electoral fate. Axios reports: Squad politics backfire The hard-left politics of Rep.

Why DeMar DeRozan's 3-Point Shot is Better Than You Think
Photo: ChicagoBulls/Twitter The Chicago Bulls are flying high early this season thanks to an 11-5 start. And one of the most important cogs in these new-look Bulls is DeMar DeRozan. Most of DeRozan’s offensive production has come in the expected ways such as conversion rates well above league average at the rim and in the mid-range. However, one thing that most didn’t expect was his improved three-point shooting.
Is Nikola Vucevic The Bulls' Villain?
Photo: Raj Mehta/USA TODAY Sports Nikola Vucevic has been disappointing this season. I think that’s a statement that all Chicago Bulls fans can agree with. He’s averaging just 15 points per game while shooting a dismal 39.6% from the field and 30% from three-point range. And just 223 days ago, the Bulls traded multiple first-round draft picks to acquire the two-time All-Star. Despite the team’s overall strong start, many fans are rightfully frustrated with the big man’s production.
Opinion | It was a long journey to get my coronavirus vaccine. It was worth the wait.
Chip Jones is a Richmond-based writer and author of “The Organ Thieves: The Shocking Story of the First Heart Transplant in the Segregated South.” When my bedroom phone rang early one recent Saturday morning, my natural inclination was to ignore it. Nothing good ever comes on the landline — even during the long wait for a coronavirus vaccine. My wife and I had been signed up for weeks to get our shots through the Virginia Health Department, CVS, Kroger and so on.
OPINION: Unsettled History
It’s time for VCU Health and the university to provide restorative justice regarding the story of its first heart transplant. By Chip Jones There’s no way to put a price on the beating heart taken from a Black laborer in 1968 by white surgeons seeking professional fame and fortune. But it is possible for the state of Virginia to say his name – Bruce Tucker – and to honor his major contribution to medical history.
'The Organ Thieves' is real-life thriller set in the segregated South
It gives you such a great feeling. Yep, generosity: you can’t beat it. To hand over a gift, to watch someone smile, that’s the best. Providing a life-saving item or needed supply gives you a warm-fuzzy from your toes on up. You can’t beat the feeling you get from giving but, as in the new book “The Organ Thieves” by Chip Jones, be sure your heart is in the right place.
The Troubling History of a Black Man's Heart
Chip Jones is a former newspaper reporter and author in Richmond, Virginia. The Organ Thieves, published by Simon & Schuster, is his fourth book. To better understand the longstanding inequalities and injustices still plaguing America’s healthcare system, it helps to travel back in time to ancient Greece and heed the warnings of that early medical ethicist, Plato.

Book review: 'The Organ Thieves' recounts troubling tale of 1968 heart transplant
Book review: 'The Organ Thieves' recounts troubling tale of 1968 heart transplant The Organ Thieves On Friday, May 24, 1968, Bruce Tucker celebrated the end of his work week at an egg-packing plant in Richmond by gathering with friends and sharing wine. But the camaraderie ended early when the 54-year-old African American fell off the wall on which he was sitting, suffered a serious head injury, was taken to Medical College of Virginia Hospital and admitted as a charity patient.
How a Historic Heart Transplant Exposed a Troubling Truth About Race and Health in America Original
The man on the Dec. 15, 1967 cover of TIME would have been easy to mistake for an actor, ambassador or politician. But the chiseled face instead belonged to Dr. Christiaan Barnard, a 45-year-old heart surgeon from a little-known hospital in Cape Town. He was enjoying the international spotlight after pulling off a once-unthinkable feat: transplanting a human heart. The Dec.

Chapter One: Case of the Missing Heart CHAPTER ONE Case of the Missing Heart IN LATE MAY 1968, Doug Wilder was in his law office on a tree-lined street in Richmond, Virginia. He was winding down from a long day of work when the phone rang. “They took my brother’s heart!” the man on the other end of the line exclaimed in horror.1 As one of the best-known African American trial lawyers practicing in the state capital, Wilder was accustomed to taking random phone calls day or night.

Chip Jones column: Beyond 'Aunt Becky'
I’ve always been a sucker for star power. Not long ago, I was standing in line with my wife at a local music club waiting to get a signed CD from one of the great folk-rock singers of my generation.

Chip Jones: A magical mystery tour, right here in River City - Richmond Times-Dispatch: Guest-columnists
Watching 12-year-old Presley Barker playing a big acoustic guitar that seemed to dwarf his body was like seeing Beaver Cleaver morph into Doc Watson. The boy wonder wasn’t alone, either, as he was joined by other young pickers and pluckers in a band called ShadowGrass from Grayson County. They ranged in age from 11 to 16 and played with youthful exuberance, repeatedly thanking everyone for coming out despite the downpour.

In that spirit, I offer this checklist of the sort of things than can crop up at any family dinner, whatever our various political, spiritual, or personal situations/convictions/and/or things we want to lecture each other about.
Let’s work it out at the Y - Richmond Times-Dispatch: Guest-columnists
By Chip Jones Every workday from noon to around 1:30 p.m., men and women from a rich array of backgrounds, beliefs and body types gather in one great social experiment around Richmond. Someday, I feel sure this will become the subject of an in-depth study by an enterprising researcher at VCU, UR or Virginia Union: An online service is needed to view this article in its entirety.
