1. Introduction Moving target detection is an important task in spaceborne/airborne radar signal processing. However, when the radar operates in a down-looking mode, it often faces strong ground clutter that can spread in the space–time domain and submerge slow, weakly moving targets [1]. To eliminate the impact of clutter on target detection, space–time adaptive processing (STAP) was proposed in 1973 [2].
