The recent open letter to UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham, organized by Patriotic Millionaires UK, includes some eye-catching lines. The letter urges the introduction of a new wealth tax in the UK, following on from bold claims plastered on buses and projected onto financial landmarks. The letter’s 120 or so signatories have helped to bring the issue to the forefront once again. Fundamentally though, it’s the same message: Members of the group support the introduction of higher taxes on themselves.
