Honoring two fallen West Virginia officers 13 years later

WEST VIRGINIA (WOWK) – Two West Virginia State Troopers are being remembered on the 13th anniversary of the attack that took their lives in Clay County. On Aug. 28, 2012, West Virginia State Police Corporal Marshall Bailey and Trooper Eric Workman were gunned down in the line of duty. Luke Baber of Oak Hill had been detained for reckless driving in a stolen vehicle, but while seated in the back of the cruiser, he accessed a concealed handgun and fired on Bailey and Workman.

Football weather arrives in West Virginia

Charleston, West Virginia (WOWK) — Cooler fall like conditions have moved into Appalachia, and some StormTracker 13 Meteorologists are calling it football weather. The Mountaineers will open up with a home game against Robert Morris. It will be ok to leave the ponchos at home, as sunny skies will lead to a great start to the season. Highs will be below average, but still comfortable enough to get away with just a light jacket. Kickoff for WVU will be at 2 P.M. Saturday.
