My specialty is feature writing. I'm most at home far from home, telling stories about great challenges and people on epic quests. I follow my natural curiosity and take an immersive approach.
For stories, I've shadowed a quest to brew beer overnight in a forest, hiked to a forgotten frontier-era orchard with biologists, and followed urban foragers down city alleys. I've toured farms revitalizing ancient crops, visited dead and dying rivers, studied digital assets and solar energy, harvested saguaro fruit with the Tohono O'odham, and gone hunting with Apaches.
I've written for Bloomberg, The Guardian, The Boston Globe, Saveur, Bon Appétit, Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and many others.
