An Early Summer Look At 2026 Maryland Football

The 2025 University of Maryland Football season started with 4 wins, and ended with 8 consecutive losses. The first three of those eight straight losses being by a combined 10 points against Washington, Nebraska, and UCLA. Once the wheels came off, MD wasn’t able to get back on-track, and the losing snowballed. Now here in June, we’re a couple of months out from the 2026 season. The seat is hot for Head Coach Mike Locksley as he enters Year 8 at the helm.

44 Games Until The Trade Deadline

Currently the O’s are 31-37, 4th place in the AL East, 10GB of Tampa Bay and New York. They’re 2 games behind Toronto and Texas who are tired for the 3rd WC, with the Athletics also a game and a half ahead of Baltimore. The O’s have been outscored by 35 runs, and have lost their last 4 games. They are 7th overall in runs scored, 11th in slugging, and 13th in on-base %. Baltimore is 24th overall in era. Including tonight, the Orioles have 44 games scheduled before the August 3rd Trade Deadline.

Welcome To June; Facts and Opinions

With a 5 run 9th inning Saturday, and a 9-5 win today; the Baltimore Orioles salvaged a four game split with the Jays. In homage – and with the usual apologies –  to former Baltimore Sun / Comcast Sportsnet / Baltimore Ravens Columnist John Eisenberg; here is my version of John’s Fact & Opinion column based on what we’ve seen from the Orioles over the initial two months of this 2026 season. Fact: The O’s are entering June with a 28-32 record.
