LIVERMORE — Nick Martinez, a 20-year restaurant industry veteran and Livermore resident, is taking a leap of faith on a new hospitality initiative: the Downtown Pour Collective (DPC). And he’s building his entire business model around one thing — Livermore community. “This is what we are. We are a community that supports its own,” Martinez said.

LIVERMORE — Heartstrings, a local volunteer band, celebrated 10 years of playing music and bringing joy to residents at Quail Garden senior living facility in Livermore. The occasion marked a decade of performances every Thursday morning with a special luncheon and commemorative cake for residents, visiting family members and the musicians. The band’s founder and organizer, Susan Locke, has always had an interest in community outreach, especially through music.

DUBLIN — Mayor Sherry Hu has filed for re-election and will seek a second two-year term in the November general election. “Dublin is my home, and I am honored to serve this community,” Hu said in a statement. “Over the last two years, Dublin has continued to rise.
