DETROIT (WWJ) A stabbing in downtown Detroit left a woman dead and a man in custody. Police said the crime happened on Sunday, September 20, around 2:20 p.m., on Woodward near Congress, less than a half mile from Campus Martius. First responders took the victim in her 20s to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities arrested a man in his 40s. Police told WWJ their preliminary investigation suggests the suspect and the victim did not know each other.

Michigan State Police investigate freeway shooting on I-94 in Roseville , ask witnesses to come forward

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) Michigan State Police (MSP) are asking witnesses to a shooting on I-94 to come forward. According to MSP, an unknown suspect fired shots on the eastbound side of the freeway near 12 Mile in Roseville on Saturday, September 19, at approximately 11:32 p.m. Troopers confirmed a shooting had taken place. Authorities said the victim drove to a local hospital, but was not hurt. No other injuries were reported.

Domestic dispute leads to deadly shooting at Pontiac home

PONTIAC (WWJ) A shooting at a Pontiac home leaves one man dead and another in custody. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says the gunfire broke out at a home on Monroe Street, in the area of Huron and Telegraph, on Saturday, September 19 around 7:15 p.m. According to authorities, deputies were dispatched to the home after gunshots sounded in the background of a call to the Sheriff's Operations Center.
