I am stuck between a rock and a hard place — the rock being my job, and the hard place being my 16-year-old cat, Bob. I love my job, and I want to keep my job, but Bob is making that difficult. Every workday around 3 p.m., Bob climbs up onto my desk and makes himself comfortable — usually on the notebook that I’m trying to jot reminders in. As dinnertime gets nearer, he drapes himself over my right wrist, preventing me from using my trackball or typing or, well, doing anything work-related.
