22. September 2017 Am 24. August 2017 veröffentlichte ein angeblich russischer Twitter-Account mit nur 74 Followern namens „Lizynia Zikur“ (Handle @kirstenkellog_) einen wütenden Tweet, der die US-Nachrichtenseite „ProPublica“ als „Alt-left #HateGroup- und #FakeNews-Website“ verunglimpft. Dieser Post wurde innerhalb weniger Stunden über 23.000 Mal verbreitet. Ein weiterer Account folgte diesem Muster mit einem ähnlichen Angriff auf „ProPublica“ am darauffolgenden Tag.
