Considering how much time the open-world RPG genre has spent selling freedom by the square mile, The Blood of Dawnwalker is remarkably refreshing. That's a strange thing to admit, given Rebel Wolves' debut is clearly smaller than most of the games it will inevitably be compared to, and it hands players a literal gameplay timer on top of that.

The final previews for Marvel's Wolverine have arrived ahead of its September 15 release, and if I'm honest, I'm of two minds about what I'm seeing. On the one hand, the game seems to have hurdled a difficulty concern I've had since its 2021 reveal: given that Logan is a character who could survive just about anything, I worried that a hero who can't really die would be a difficult thing to build an interesting combat system around.

Star Wars Zero Company's Best Comparison Isn't XCOM Anymore

Since its April 2025 reveal, the shorthand for Star Wars Zero Company has largely stayed the same: this is XCOM but Star Wars. Of course, that's a fair enough starting point given the resumes involved. That said, the recent preview wave that landed its August 27 release suggests the title has outgrown prior comparisons; according to several outlets who've gotten their hands on Star Wars Zero Company, it's beginning to be quite reminiscent of Mass Effect.
