Leigh-on-Sea is a characterful seaside town that makes for an interesting double act with its more raucous next-door neighbour, Southend. Leigh perhaps fancies itself as being a cut above with a high street, The Broadway, on the cliffs that has plenty of restaurants, bars and independent shops In the older part of town, down by the waterfront, boathouses and pubs line the foreshore where Leigh was first established as a fishing port.
