Decision Day Drama: What's at stake for Columbus on Saturday
With a playoff berth already locked up, what are the possible consequences of the game on Saturday against the Red Bulls? It's been a wild ride this season for the Crew. Despite the fact it's been over a month since their last win they've found themselves guaranteed at least a wild card game. However, there's more that can be achieved with a little bit of help/luck with other results.
Columbus faces setback in playoff hunt
It was quite a week for the Crew this last week and they now face more adversity than they've had all season, which is really saying something. It all started last Wednesday in New York when they held a 2-1 lead in the 60th minute against NYCFC in a pivotal matchup as both teams fight for playoff positioning. New York then scored in the 73rd minute to draw even, which grabbing a point for the Crew in an important away match would still have been beneficial.
After a must win in Atlanta, where does the Crew stand with five games left?
What seemed like an easy, training ground type of game turned into a sweat it out until the last minute victory for the Crew in Atlanta. It was the highs and lows that symbolized the season to this point. Columbus looked dominate early after withstanding Atlanta's first 5-10 minute high energy pressure.
Columbus find themselves with the late summer blues, time is running out
It appears the Columbus Crew have the back to school blues that most school age kids can relate to. A team that began the summer in early June through mid July went on a tear winning four out of six games and drawing one, marched to a 4-1-1 record capped by a dramatic come from behind win in Cincinnati.
Florida Increases Flood Disclosure Requirements For Property Sales
The Florida Legislature passed Senate Bill 948, which expands Florida's disclosure requirements relating to flooding. This law introduces significant changes to the flooding disclosure requirements that sellers of residential property should be aware of. This law also requires landlords and mobile home park owners to disclose facts related to flooding. These changes take effect on October 1. What Counts as Flooding?

Struggles continue for Columbus as playoff race heats up
Time to press the panic button? No...well...maybe. Those were my thoughts after watching the Crew give away two important points on the road against a Toronto FC team that was playing for pride. Diego Rossi was able to get the Crew an early lead in the eighth minute, but then things seemed disjointed. Columbus held on as long as they could until Toronto was able to draw level in the 77th minute as a poor clearance off a corner kick led to a recycled cross which was finished by Vilsaint.
Florida Legislature Tightens Land Use Regulations With Senate Bill 1080
Senate Bill 1080 (SB 1080) makes several pro-property rights changes to Florida Statutes that affect local governments' ability to regulate land use. The bill amends the application and approval process for development permits and orders, modifies the comprehensive plan amendment process, and changes how impact fees may be imposed and increased. Such changes take effect on October 1.
Columbus gets their guy: How Wessam Abou Ali will help bolster the attack
The wait is over. Columbus has chosen their next striker and that comes in the form of Club World Cup standout Wessam Abou Ali. He's been picked by General manager Issa Tall as the replacement for the pre-season departure of Cucho Herandez. It's been a long season to this point without a true number 9 on the pitch, but that wait is coming to a close.

There are exceptions of when an applicant will not be entitled to a refund. Notably, deadlines described above restart if the applicant makes a “substantial change” to its application. A substantial change is a change of 15% or more in proposed density, intensity, or square footage of a parcel.
Crew get back on track - three things from the legendary night
It was a legendary night in Columbus on Saturday evening as the Crew honored the enshrinement of Guillermo Barros Schelotto into their Circle of Honor. It was a highlight in and of itself to relive the moments that made Schelotto one of, if not the, greatest player to don a Crew kit. While the magician himself couldn't be there a number of other legends showed in support, Brian McBride, Dante Washington, Frankie Hejduk, Duncan Oughton to name a few.
Crew accomplish a first in HIR derby: Three takeaways from the game
2-0 is the most dangerous lead in sports. This is a mantra my college coach used often, and it proves true time and time again. Which ever team scores the third goal would essentially dictate the game entirely. Saturday night was the latest example and it marked the first time Columbus came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat FC Cincy in regulation (last time in 2023 Eastern conference final went into extra time).
Columbus grabs important point on the road against Western conference contender
An important result for the Crew was downplayed in the end by the devastating head injury to Seattle goalkeeper Stephen Frei. In the last minute of the game during a scramble in the box as Columbus was desperately trying to steal three points on the road Amar Sejdic could not get out of the way of Frei as he leaped for the ball and as he landed his temple collided with Sejdic's knee. Frei immediately went into the "fencing posture" signifying a significant brain injury occurred.
Crew remain unbeaten in Columbus after busy week
It wasn't always pretty, but it ended up being effective. Columbus looked a lot better in the early part of their week putting a 3-1 drubbing on Atlanta on Wednesday evening. Sunday's game with Philadelphia in town was a lot less convincing, but just as productive earning a 1-0 victory over Eastern conference leader Philadelphia. All-in-all it was a huge week as the Crew picked up all 6 points while defending their fortress as they've looked to get their season back on the rails.
Columbus Crew find their footing against the best in the West: Three things from the match
April 5, 2025. That was the date of the last outright win the Crew and fans experienced, a solid 4-2 win over Charlotte FC. Since then it was a slew of bad draws and a couple losses, posting a gross 0-4-2 record as Columbus limped into the short international break. Turns out that break could not have come at a better time seeing as how before Saturday the last we saw of the Crew they were handing out goals to Messi and company in a 5-1 drubbing.
Columbus realizes a first of the season against motivated FC Charlotte team: Three things from the match
Don't be sad it's over, be happy for the times we've had. Columbus dropped their first away game of the season Saturday night in Charlotte 3-2. On the surface this doesn't seem like a big deal, but it's the string of draws leading up to a match like this that start to matter. All of a sudden the missed opportunities in those draws, especially the ones that could've easily been wins become impactful when a game like this is dropped.
Familiar story plays out for Columbus Crew in HIR derby
Hell is Real. Not the kind of hell you may be thinking of. This hell is watching this team in Columbus work so hard to be in control of the game, and create opportunities just to see the ball harmlessly be parried away or miss completely. Finishing chances is the hell right now, we are all in it together. There was a real opportunity at hand for someone to step up and leave their mark on the game.
Three things from the tense match between Columbus and Philadelphia
Are you not entertained? Columbus Crew snatched a point from the jaws of defeat in Saturday evening's hotly contested match in Philadelphia. With the Union up by one goal in the 92nd minute needing to get through just one more minute to secure the purse at home against the team that was at the top of the East. It came down to one final chance for Columbus, a corner kick, which is typically not a threat for a team that ranks in the bottom two of the league in aerial duels won (Montreal being last).
Columbus Crew review: Player grades through first 11 games
Kings of the castle. With their latest take down of a solid Charlotte team, Columbus now sits alone atop the Eastern Conference standings. Their 7-3-1 start is their best mark after 11 games since 2020. With one-third of the season now in the books it's time to start taking a look at how players are performing thus far.
Crew beats San Jose in return to Columbus , three things from the win on Saturday
119 minutes played, zero goals. That's where things stood for the Crew before finally breaking through in the 29th minute. In true fashion for Columbus, it would have to be the team's starting center back to get them back in the books. Sean Zawadzki was the one to finally break through and get the scoring back on track on a well played ball in from a free kick by Diego Rossi.
Key takeaways from the Crew loss to Inter Miami
Oh what a night. A historic event, a record-breaking crowd in attendance to witness the last two unbeaten teams in the MLS go to battle. Oh yea, apparently a guy named Lionel Messi who is also a pretty big deal was on the pitch. It was as dramatic of a 1-0 game you could see in the MLS this season. A juggernaut of talent trying to stave off perhaps the most cohesive team in the entire league.
Impressive start continues: Columbus ties club record with latest road victory
All they do is win, win win. Well, sometimes they draw but one thing they haven't done is lose. With Sunday evening's latest chapter in the books the Crew have now tied a club record for consecutive games unbeaten to start a season at eight. This team is built different, perhaps than any other Columbus team I've witnessed. There's a level of bond/cohesiveness that can be felt watching this group work together on the pitch.
5 things from Saturday's Crew win over CF Montreal
"America's hardest working team." This was the tagline attached to the Columbus Crew upon their designation as the first team in MLS. This 2025 version of the Crew seemed to have validated that motto in Saturday's victory over CF Montreal at home. Was it always pretty? No, certainly not. At times in the second half it seemed messy. Was it always effective? Again, no. Sloppy turnovers, mistouches and sometimes just bad ideas had them on the backfoot for most of the second half. Was it a great effort?
Columbus Crew: The good, the bad and the ugly through first six games
Yes! No! What?! How?! These are all exclamations that can be heard early on in almost any Columbus Crew game you've watched this season. It's been an absolute roller coaster and each game seems to add a little bit of gray hair to all fans watching.
Top Ladder Safety Tips For Healthcare Workers - Healthcare Business Today
While facility and maintenance professionals working at hospitals and healthcare practices will already be trained on ladder safety, it’s important to educate office and medical staff who may need to use a ladder from time to time. That is because they may be required to retrieve patient files or medical supplies from high shelves, replace individual ceiling light bulbs or tackle other tasks that will need height.
Columbus Crew's refusal to score on display once again, who will step up?
I miss the days when..... I miss the days when Columbus was making a mockery of opposing defenses on their way to finishing with the second highest goal count in the league last season. I miss when getting shut out was a feather in the cap of the opposing teams and consecutive shut-outs were unheard of (happened only once last season). I miss the first game of the season where Diego Rossi and Jacen Russell-Rowe made us feel like we may be ok.
Columbus Crew acquire help as season gets into full swing
Columbus has acquired free agent Midfielder Amar Sejdić through 2025 with option for 2026. It's been about as good a start as you can ask from the Crew as they've opened the season with two wins, one of them being on the road against a motivated rival. Yet here we are, already discussing the stress of depth as their CONCACAF Champions Cup run is set to begin tonight against what seems like new rival LAFC.
Wilfried Nancy proves brilliance one again leading Crew to win in season opener
Columbus Crew Head Coach Wilfried Nancy guided Columbus Crew to a 4-2 win over rival Chicago Fire in season opener Excitement, uncertainty and cautious optimism are three terms that could be used to describe the feel of the season opener as the Crew kicked off their season at home on February 22. It was an uneven start for the home team, Chicago seemed intent to impose their will as Columbus seemed to be on their back foot for about the first 25 minutes of the first half.
Finally good news for Crew fans as season opener approaches
Star keeper Patrick Schulte has signed an extension to stay with the Crew through 2027 with a Club option in 2028. It was a cold Sunday in Columbus, but it wasn't enough to ice the excitement for the first match week of the season. Surely nothing else could be announced before the game on Saturday that would shake the confidence and optimism of Crew fans, haven't we gone through enough already? Then it happened, an alert from the Crew with breaking news. This time it was actually good news though.
Star trio loses second piece this week leaving fans scrambling for answers
And then there was one. With fans still reeling a bit from the Cucho Hernandez move to Real Betis on February 3, another blow was dealt just two days later as the Christian Ramirez to LA Galaxy trade was announced. This leaves Diego Rossi as the lone piece remaining of the star trio that guided Columbus to a MLS Cup title in 2023, a Leagues Cup title and a CONCACAF Champions Cup Runner-up in 2024.
What the sale of Cucho Hernandez means for the Crew
What happens now for the Crew after the sale of their Colombian superstar Cucho Hernandez? 29 matches, 19 goals, 11 assists and the league runner-up in MVP voting in the 2024 season. This is what General Manager Issa Tall and Manager Wilfried Nancy will be tasked with replacing after the 11th hour sale of Cucho Hernandez to Real Betis in the last day of the transfer window for La Liga on February 3. Cucho's impact went far beyond the numbers for the Crew however.
Starting Or Expanding A Business On Property In Tampa? Time To Consider Land Use And Zoning Regulations
Tampa's significant market growth draws investment and talent at record rates, making it one of the most attractive places in Florida, if not the United States, to do business. But starting or expanding a business in Tampa involves a wide range of factors that need to be addressed outside of the product or service itself. These include insurance, site improvements, permitting, staffing, marketing and the list goes on. The learning curve can be steep, especially for first-time entrepreneurs.
New FL Statute Confirms Owner-Granted Easements On Commonly Owned Land
HB 799 establishes s. 704.09 F.S., which permits real property owners to create servitudes, such as easements and real covenants, on the owner's real property despite the land being held in common ownership. It also validates similar arrangements made before the bill became law on June 27. Commonly, developers and other real property owners create servitudes on their land or recorded real covenants prior to its division and sale. However, recent cases, including King v. Roorda and AFP 103 Corp. v.
Florida Law Speeds Up Building Permits, Secures Rights For Developers
Florida's new pro-housing development law, Senate Bill 812, accomplishes two things. First, it allows developers to acquire up to 50% of the residential building permits for a residential subdivision or planned community. It does this by requiring certain cities and counties to create an expedited review process for issuing building permits for residential subdivisions or planned communities. Second, it creates a mechanism for developers to have a vested right in an approved preliminary plat.
