How is social media changing news?

Social media has made everyone a journalist and public figure, empowering individuals but also enabling unprecedented disinformation spread.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I do most of my writing in Pages and all of my number-crunching in Excel. I've used ChatGPT to find sources to interview but never to write.

Why did you become a journalist?

I published by first op-ed in college and decided all I wanted to do was write. I learned journalism as a freelancer and continue to learn.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Late morning to late evening.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

The New York Times, but I keep finding stories in the Washington Post that I want to read, too.
