MAIA frailty subgroup analysis: long-term follow-up with daratumumab plus lenalidomide/dexamethasone in transplant-ineligible newly diagnosed myeloma
Abstract In MAIA (Daratumumab, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone versus lenalidomide and dexamethasone alone in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma), daratumumab plus lenalidomide/dexamethasone (D-Rd) improved progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) versus Rd in transplant-ineligible newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM). Here, we report an updated subgroup analysis by frailty status.
Daratumumab, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone in transplant-ineligible newly diagnosed multiple myeloma: MAIA final survival analysis
|
Abstract In previous analyses of MAIA, daratumumab plus lenalidomide/dexamethasone (D-Rd) significantly improved progression-free survival and overall survival (OS) versus lenalidomide/dexamethasone (Rd) in transplant-ineligible newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM). We report results on long-term OS and subsequent antimyeloma therapies from the MAIA final analysis. A protocol amendment (July 20, 2021) led to a long-term extension of MAIA, during which patients were followed for OS.

Daratumumab plus bortezomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone in transplant-deferred newly diagnosed multiple myeloma: Frailty subgroup analysis of CEPHEUS
|
To the Editor Daratumumab, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone (DRd) is approved to treat transplant-ineligible patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) based on the phase 3 MAIA trial [1,2,3]. Daratumumab, bortezomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone (DVRd) is approved to treat patients with NDMM, regardless of autologous stem-cell transplant eligibility, based on the phase 3 PERSEUS [4] and CEPHEUS [5] trials. Outcomes in frail patients from CEPHEUS are unknown.

Resolution of Cardiac Infiltration Following Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation for AL Amyloidosis:
History of Presentation A 43-year-old man presented to the emergency department with shortness of breath of 6 months’ duration. He previously played ice hockey regularly, but now experienced NYHA functional class III dyspnea. He had no associated chest pain, cough, orthopnea, or paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea. His blood pressure was 114/82 mm Hg, heart rate was 105 beats/min, and oxygen saturation was 94% on room air.
The Incidence and Prevalence of Cardiac Amyloidosis in a Large Community-Based Cohort in Alberta, Canada
Abstract Background Despite the improved awareness of cardiac amyloidosis among clinicians, its incidence and prevalence is not well-described in a community setting. We sought to investigate the incidence and prevalence of cardiac amyloidosis in the community.
