Levain Bakery’s Iconic Cookies Set to Debut in Fashion Island in September

Levain cookies A small box arrived the other day. I opened it, and to my delight, it contained four large cookies, courtesy of Levain Bakery: Oatmeal Raisin, Chocolate Chip Walnut, Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip, and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter. The cookies came with instructions (more than just “bite, eat, enjoy”). It was recommended to warm the cookies in the oven for a few minutes until gooey—or in the microwave for 20 seconds for those who cannot wait to savor the sugary treat.

That’s one of the slogans used by Gelato del Mar, which has a popular gelato store on Coast Highway in Corona del Mar. Now, they are spreading that happiness by opening a second location on Balboa Island at 226 Marine Avenue in the spot that formerly housed Toastique.
