Introduction A mother Escherichia coli cell divides asymmetrically into two daughter cells that have different elongation rates (Stewart et al., 2005; Chao, 2010; Shi et al., 2020; Proenca et al., 2018; Proenca et al., 2019; Łapińska et al., 2019).
