Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Inspired by the insecticidal scaffold honokiol, bis(benzoxazole)-fused analogs were designed and synthesized. Compounds 5h, 7d, 8f, 8m, and 9a exhibited potent oral toxicity (LC50 = 3.2–12.6 mg/L) and antifeedant activity (AFC50 = 1.0–3.3 mg/L) against Plutella xylostella, outperforming honokiol, toosendanin, and rotenone. In greenhouse trials, compound 8f (100 mg/L, 48 h) achieved 51.1% corrected mortality and 75.8% leaf protection.

ABSTRACT Conflicting public-facing health recommendations can arise as scientific evidence evolves, impairing public decision-making. This web-based experimental study with a U.S. sample (N = 600) examined the effectiveness of communication strategies for presenting such conflicting recommendations, specifically proactive versus reactive messaging and source difference, in shaping message and source responses and, subsequently, behavioral intentions toward the updated recommendation.

Time-frequency joint imaging algorithm for borehole radar logging

Abstract In borehole radar logging identification technology, there are two key issues: target detection range and spatial resolution. Existing imaging algorithms face limitations in imaging distant targets, tracking moving targets, and identifying low-scattering cross-section features. To address the contradiction between detection range and resolution, we propose a novel time-frequency joint imaging algorithm based on direct-wave referenced processing.
