What was your first job as a journalist?

Stringer for The York Daily Record in York, Pa.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Many, many years ago when I was a little girl.

How is social media changing news?

It's not really. We're doing the same work we always did - just faster.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Lois Lane in "Superman."

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

A computer, an iPhone and good old-fashioned pen and paper.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Nope. My high school didn't have one until partway through my senior year.
