There are literally hundreds of different things to do in New Zealand, ranging from the pleasant and scenic to the ultimate in intrepid adventures and daredevil activities. The country is split into two distinct geographical areas. These are South Island, known as Te Waipounamu and then North Island, also known as Te Ika-a-Māui.
