Classic Nerd

The desert dust has barely settled from Coachella's first weekend, and my feet are still blistering from three days of traversing the Empire Polo Club grounds. The idea of spending three days in the desert sun normally sounds like my personal nightmare, but this year's lineup was simply too good to pass up. And truly, for anyone who remembers a time before TikTok existed, Coachella 2025 delivered in ways I didn't expect.

Grandma's getting hammered, that weird uncle is about to start going off about his new importing/exporting business, and somewhere a child screams — that's right, it's the holidays! At a certain point, someone just needs to put something on the screen to shut everyone else up — and folks probably could use a laugh. These Christmas comedies may not always have the most holiday spirit or dig deep into the true meaning of the season, but they will make you laugh out loud.

Ahh, remember celebrating the winter holidays in the ‘90s? Stores would actually close (without posting about it on social media), a pile of holiday movies from Blockbuster warmed up by the fire, and we tried to kill each other over Elmo toys. Those were the days. While the ‘90s were a goldmine of cinema in general, it turns out there actually aren’t that many great holiday movies from the decade.
