Abstract A favorable industrial environment is important for increasing the sophistication and competitiveness of a country’s exports. However, a country’s industrial environment is bound to change dynamically. Therefore, this study explores the impact of industrial environment uncertainty on export complexity.

1 INTRODUCTION In the field of complex systems such as satellites, operational performance requirements impose important constraints to system design. System operation risk assessments are based on RAMS performance factors that is, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety.1 However, while the methodologies associated to the evaluation of system Reliability and Safety are well defined, no official methodology is established for Availability and Maintainability.

1. Introduction Systems engineering activities govern every technical and human aspect of the development of a system throughout its whole life cycle [1]. Nevertheless, the complexity of systems is ever-increasing due to their multidisciplinary nature, growing customer requirements, and multiple external constraints [2]. Managing this complexity has become crucial in the success of projects, despite a rigorous application of systems engineering processes.
