Introduction Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) has been defined haemodynamically by pre-capillary pulmonary hypertension (PH), with a mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP) ≥20 mmHg and a pulmonary arterial wedge pressure (PAWP) ≤15 mmHg, measured at right heart catheterisation (RHC) [1]. If the PAWP is higher than 15 mmHg, post-capillary PH is present and pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease (PH-LHD) should be considered.
