“It’s Soul-Sucking”: Credit Recovery Program Presents Graduation Barriers
Since the pandemic, the district has offered the online credit recovery program, Edgenuity, for students who aren’t on track to graduate. While the option to take these courses helps many students graduate on time, Edgenuity’s course design makes it very easy for some students to cheat and near-impossible for other students to even access the material. Edgenuity’s poorly written questions and lack of translation options make it difficult for some hard-working students to pass their classes.

Darnise Williams Implicated in LAUSD Pay Scandal
According to the , former Sequoia Union High School District (SUHSD) Superintendent Dr. Darnise Williams collected over $78,051 in extra pay without proper documentation while working at the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Williams was one of at least ten employees who, in total, collected more than $750,000 from 2017-2020 without proper approval.
Menlo-Atherton High students hold protest march, call for de-escalation training following teen's arrest
On Wednesday afternoon, May 3, over 100 Menlo-Atherton High School students, teachers and community members gathered to protest the Atherton Police Department and school administration's handling of an incident Friday, April 28, when police handcuffed two students and pinned one to the ground at a bus stop just outside the Atherton campus. Despite heavy rain, the protesters walked for over an hour on Wednesday.
