Factors related to mortality in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in a lower middle-income country: A retrospective observational study

In this retrospective observational study, the primary outcome was hospital mortality. Therefore, we used the formula to find the minimum sample size for estimating a population proportion with a confidence level of 95%, a confidence interval (margin of error) of ±5.21%, and an assumed population proportion of 47.8%, based on the hospital mortality rate (47.8%) reported in a previously published study [6].
