UWG mourns loss of Hall of Fame member Samuel

The University of West Georgia mourns the loss of an icon this week, sadly announcing the news of the passing of UWG Hall of Fame basketball player Melanie (Shepherd) Samuel earlier this week. Samuel, who entered the UWG Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007, passed away on Feb. 2 surrounded by family just a few days after her 45th birthday. Her family will have a Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. in Atlanta. Saturday Feb.
