Allen ISD officials are pausing the search for a new superintendent after district leaders appointed an acting superintendent earlier this year. Latest update In a joint statement attributed to AISD and the board of trustees, officials said the district is in "great hands" with acting Superintendent Kim McLaughlin. A new event venue called The Chestnut Hall is coming to downtown McKinney this year, co-owner Alycia Kuehne said. The Chestnut Hall will feature 3,000 square feet of indoor event space and 750 square feet of outdoor balcony space, according to its website.
