1 INTRODUCTION As a rare earth host material, YAG has long been a popular candidate for both applications in laser gain media1 and quantum memory in quantum information science.2, 3 Given this background, YAG is a strong candidate for photonic integrated circuits (PICs).4, 5 In order to develop YAG as a comprehensive platform for integrated photonics, processes for fabricating waveguides and other optical components within a single sample are needed.
