1. Introduction It has been established that hippocampal neurogenesis in rodents, non-human primates, and humans persists throughout the life span [1], but it drops sharply in aged adults and Alzheimer’s Disease patients [2,3]. A positive correlation exists between higher numbers of neuroblasts and an enhanced cognitive status [2]. Therefore, regulating adult mammalian hippocampal neurogenesis through small molecules is a potential strategy for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders [4].
