When Sports Stopped, We Didn't
The sports world stopped on March 11. There was no blueprint for how sports networks should respond. Nothing matches the passion sports fans have for the events, teams and athletes they love. So we’ve adjusted. We’ve innovated. Over the past 10 weeks, within this unfamiliar environment, ESPN has creatively delivered a mix of compelling news, commentary, access, opinion, analysis, incredible storytelling and even some unique events across our platforms.

Want to really understand O.J. Simpson? Here’s the syllabus for you.
Much has been made of the fact that our documentary “O.J.: Made in America” clocks in at seven hours and 43 minutes. Some skeptics have wondered if there’s that much left to say about a story everyone knows, even if it’s one that still captivates. But director Ezra Edelman’s five-part series, which begins airing on ABC on Saturday and continues on ESPN starting Tuesday, is not just about O.J. Simpson.
Public Editor Q&A: Questions for ESPN's Connor Schell
When I was appointed ESPN's public editor this past November, there was some discussion around what the title change from "ombudsman" to "public editor" meant. As I described in my first column, the goal was to be less of a daily critic of ESPN's journalism -- there's no shortage of people already doing that, many quite well -- but to better connect ESPN with its readers. One way to do that is to facilitate communication between the audience and the network's senior executives.
Reader responses: 30 for 30, SportsCenter anchors, reader comments
To some, the change in title of this position from ombudsman to public editor was nothing more than cosmetic. To others, it was a sign that holding ESPN journalistically accountable was no longer a priority.
