What does it mean to be a journalist?

A writer and/or editor that is dedicated to uncovering the truth behind a story in order to better inform the public.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I use social media a ton, as well as a variety of SEO tools, WordPress, and Slack.

I did not, but I do wish I had!

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Most recently, I was particularly proud of my reflection piece about 9/11.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Always be 100% dedicated to your beat, but do not let that deter you from following your other interests.

When's the best time to pitch you?

The best time to pitch me would be in the morning.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That movies and TV are just fluff stories or full of celeb gossip and news.
