AbstractChronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a complex pathological disease of the respiratory system which is associated with a variety of comorbidities including cognitive deficit. The purpose of this pilot study was to evaluate cognition in COPD patients when compared to Irish norms.Outpatients with a diagnosis of COPD, who were not in an acute exacerbation, were recruited and assess for cognitive function using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) screening tool.
