Marine natural products are of great importance and interest in modern chemistry due to the broad scope of biological activity and structural diversity they provide. (1,2) In particular, polycyclic strained structures containing small rings, such as, e.g., cyclopropanes, constitute synthetically challenging targets. (3) To date there are only a few examples of polycyclic natural products with densely substituted cyclopropanes being successfully synthesized.
