In September, 1.8 million European teachers will return to the classroom, but not all of them will have the same number of pupils in front of them. On average, a teacher in the European Union will have 13.3 children under their supervision according to Eurostat, a figure that varies greatly from one country to another: from 18.2 in Romania to 7.4 in Greece. All studies highlight the importance of this pupil-to-teacher ratio for their academic success and maintaining their attention.
