Corey Brown is the founder of notreble.com, the online magazine for bassists. Corey fell in love with the bass at a young age, thanks to his parents cranking the bass knob to 11 on their stereo. He started playing double bass at the age of 10 and picked up the bass guitar at age 14. Later, he built his first website (in 1995). I stumbled across this video by Iv4nBass, and I clicked immediately when I saw the title. He takes his homemade fretless Jazz Bass and makes it sing in this bass cover of “A Remark You Made,” one of Joe Zawinul’s classics from Weather Report’s Heavy Weather album. I love the bass he made, and especially the handwritten “Jaco only needed 4” message on it. Corey Brown is the founder of No Treble and serves in an advisory role.
