Apple is testing Apple Reference Image in iOS 27, a new iPhone camera system that could authenticate where a photo came from, while Photos is adding a “Captured by Me” view for your own camera shots. Put them together, and iOS 27 starts to look less like a Photos update and more like Apple quietly laying the groundwork for a camera roll with receipts.

Apple is still planning a glass-centric iPhone redesign for 2027, with the 20th-anniversary Pro models expected to wrap curved glass around the front and back while keeping a thin metal band through the middle.
