Craig Bonn
Craig Bonn’s Biography
Craig Bonn’s professional journey in finance reflects more than three decades of steady experience in investment strategy, private equity, and alternative markets. Over the years, he has worked to connect clients with opportunities that align with their goals, focusing on technology, healthcare, energy, and consumer industries. Today, he holds leadership roles as managing partner of Harley Capital LLC, an independent broker-dealer, and managing member of Edge Partners LLC, a firm dedicated to structuring pre-IPO investments through special purpose vehicles (SPVs). His work has included identifying and supporting early-stage positions in companies like Facebook, Databricks, and Anthropic, demonstrating a focus on innovation-driven growth.
Raised in New York, Craig studied at the University of Hartford, where he earned his undergraduate degree. Soon after graduation, he began his career with Lehman Brothers, which was deeply involved in the global financial system. His time there offered exposure to the challenges and complexities of institutional investing. He gained experience in portfolio management, client relations, and risk evaluation, skills that would later shape his approach to building investment structures. Working in such an environment also revealed to him the limitations of relying solely on conventional market instruments. This realization pushed him to explore new paths within alternative investments, recognizing that specific clients needed tailored strategies beyond traditional options.
That insight ultimately led him to establish Harley Capital LLC. With a clear intention to create an independent and trusted firm, Craig built Harley Capital around transparency, client service, and access to unique opportunities. As a boutique investment firm, Harley Capital works with family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and trusts, offering carefully selected investment options often beyond mainstream investors' reach. Under his leadership, Harley Capital has focused on financial results and building long-term client relationships grounded in responsibility and trust.
Craig also founded Edge Partners LLC to broaden his focus on pre-IPO investments. He utilizes the SPV model at Edge Partners, allowing accredited investors to pool resources and participate in private companies approaching major liquidity events. The firm emphasizes artificial intelligence, software, robotics, and cybersecurity sectors, reflecting rapid innovation and growth potential. Operating under a Delaware Series LLC structure, Edge Partners combines efficiency with flexibility while applying disciplined due diligence in its decision-making process.
Craig’s approach to investing is rooted in three principles: careful risk management, timing, and long-term vision. He values identifying strong private companies before they reach the public markets, recognizing that this stage often offers the most promising return potential. Equally important to him is structuring investments to ensure stability and clarity for participants.
Beyond pre-IPO and private equity, Craig has expanded his interests into natural gas mineral funds, hospitality REITs, and specialty financing. His involvement includes WhiteHawk Energy and investments in Outstanding Foods, Braemar Hotels and Resorts, Prospect Capital, and Urica Therapeutics. Each investment reflects his methodical evaluation of industries, company fundamentals, and broader market conditions.
Craig also values giving back to the community. He is involved with charitable causes, including Pink Aid and Fred’s Team, organizations that support cancer research and health-focused initiatives. His contributions include both financial support and active participation in awareness-building efforts.
Craig has lived in Westport, Connecticut, for over 25 years, sharing his life there with his wife. Outside of finance, he maintains a passion for running, having completed five marathons, including the New York Marathon. He also enjoys traveling and learning from the diverse perspectives and cultures he encounters worldwide.
Craig Bonn continues to balance his professional work in finance with his personal commitments. He strives to build lasting client value while remaining engaged with his community and personal interests.
