ABSTRACT Purpose This study explores how instructional designers (IDs) in higher education understand and experience their professional identity. As distance education grows, IDs occupy a “third space” between faculty and administration, yet their roles remain ambiguously defined and frequently misunderstood. This research addresses a gap in the literature by focusing on IDs’ self-perceptions and career trajectories.

IN light of the recent concerns and discussions on the scarcity of Kingfish, on the NSW east coast, for the last few seasons, I have put this article together on the effects of ENSO (El Niño-Southern Oscillation) on marine ecosystems. It’s based on a combination of published science, the experiences of commercial fishermen worldwide (particularly South America) and personal observations of 34 years full time guiding on Sydney harbour.

ABSTRACT This study explores elementary school teachers’ perceptions of administrative expectations and the support they received during the first six months of the COVID-19 pandemic, a period marked by the sudden transition to remote learning. Utilising a basic qualitative inquiry approach, interviews with 10 elementary teachers revealed the critical role of supportive leadership, consistent communication, and the challenges posed by shifting expectations.
