When we were judging the All Canadian Wine Championships last month there was a separate category for “orange wine,” won, incidentally, by British Columbia’s Black Market Wine Company.

Last week I was in Harrow, Ont., judging the 34th annual ACWC (All Canadian Wine Championships), by far Canada’s oldest national competition. Atlantic wines have historically done very well at this competition, mainly because there are lots of categories for the types of grapes we grow down here.
