Network Rail A major programme of works is to begin in October as part of the Scottish Government’s £311.5 million investment to electrify the 118km of Fife railway. Over 18 days, engineers will carry out bridge replacements, track and signalling upgrades, and other improvements to clear the way for the installation of new overhead power lines.

Shutterstock THE Scottish Government is seeking views on the packaging of tobacco, vapes, and nicotine products, as well as on how they are displayed in shops. The consultation comes as the government looks to make such products less enticing to children and young people. It will run from July 10 for 12 weeks.

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by LSBUD and the UK Government’s department for science, innovation, and technology (DSIT), paving the way for the two to work in partnership to improve safe digging practices.
