HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) – An umbrella may be your best friend today as we will see scattered showers, some of which could include a brief, heavy downpour leading to localized ponding of water. High temperatures today will be moderated a bit by the additional clouds and rain activity, but still manage to push into the mid 90’s in some areas. As the mechanism setting off the showers starts to pull away from the Valley it will take much of the rain with it.

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The arrival of some Saharan dust will make our skies a little hazy Wednesday and Thursday. This will also result in moderate air quality for Wednesday, which could be an issue for unusually sensitive people. Computer models indicate a more robust plume of dust could arrive early next week. We will continue to see high temperatures in the mid to upper 90’s in many areas.

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) – Our summertime heat will be continuing today with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. High temperatures will reach the triple digits from McAllen to the west. Much of the Valley will bake in the upper 90’s. When you factor in the humidity, the heat stress levels will be dangerous during the hottest times of the afternoon. Be sure to take some precautions during outdoor activities this afternoon.
