The Chicago Bears are weighing new properties in Hammond, Indiana, as they work toward a decision on where to build a new stadium, with team executives recently returning to the northwest Indiana city. Hammond Mayor Tom McDermott said Bears President Kevin Warren visited the city again after the team announced Friday that its Board of Directors voted to advance a stadium development project there.

The chief executive of Australia's National Rugby League says concerns that a multi-million pound investment into Super League could drain talent from the game in the UK "are completely unfounded". Andrew Abdo has been in the UK holding talks with British officials over the potential ground-breaking deal between the sport's two leading competitions. "What we're trying to achieve is to make rugby league in the UK and Europe as strong as possible," he told BBC Sport.

V'landys said that there is no concrete offer in place for the NRL to buy into Super League, but added that any deal would depend on the creation of an independent governing body. Asked about the NRL taking a Super League stake, he said: "We could. That's an option, if that's what they want us to do. "There has to be structural corporate governance change for that to happen.
