The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University is proud to announce the appointment of six new faculty members, whose areas of interest and practice range from civil rights, corporate law, torts, health law and legal method and writing. This new group of faculty will join the growing ranks of prestigious faculty at ASU Law during the 2025-2026 academic year, officially starting on August 16.

“It’s because of my grandpa I’m here,” Alyannah Buhman said. “He was my biggest fan.” Buhman, now a Juris Doctor graduate of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, said law school always felt out of reach. “Despite my fascination with the legal and justice system, I didn’t grow up with money. I was raised by a single mother for most of my life. I didn’t have the connections I thought I needed, and I’m a woman of color,” she said. “But he believed in me.

Chanel Okosun will receive her Master of Legal Studies with an emphasis in health care law and administration from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. She has long been interested in understanding the intersection of law, policy and real-world outcomes in the health care field.
