Cultivating Vitality

I don’t know how it has happened already but this fall season is cruising by which means that winter is just around the corner. When the days get shorter and the nights get longer, it can affect our biological rhythms like mood, appetite, and sleep. As many of you know, we are connected to the season’s cycles and what our bodies desire switch with these changes of season. This can be a time of finding balance or at least the closest thing to it.

The majority of us have something that we would like to change in our lives, something we would like to improve in order to better ourselves. This could be getting out and connecting more with others. It could be to feel healthier, or become more active. Maybe it’s finding passion in our lives or bringing more joy in. Shouldn’t enjoying life to the best of our ability be an ultimate goal?

A concept that I have related to my entire life was recently given a name by a teacher of mine. This is the both/and way of thinking. It is a more open-minded approach to viewing the world. The way we process our experiences, emotions and the situations we find ourselves in can have a broad range of multiple truths. On the opposite side of this spectrum is the concept of the either/or. This is a more linear or singular way of thinking; meaning that things can go either one way or the other.
