Hereditary angioedema (HAE), a rare genetic disorder, results from an inherited deficiency or dysfunction of C1-inhibitor (C1-INH). Recurrent episodes of angioedema are associated with considerable morbidity and quality-of-life (QoL) impact. Long-term prophylaxis (LTP) to reduce breakthrough attack frequency and severity can ameliorate this burden.
