An investigative journalist.

It's changing the news landscape in terms of audience reach and engagement.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To be a historian.

Via email.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I use a lot depending on the task. My most commonly used tools are Audacity, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Lumen Pro etc.

YouTube

Who do you wish followed you?

Beyoncé, Adele, Rihanna and Meryl Streep.

Why did you become a journalist?

To tell impactful stories.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

We didn't have a publication per se, but I was a reporter and presenter.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

An investigative piece on illegal secondhand car trade.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Never be afraid of reaching out to people.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Late afternoon to evening.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

An investigative piece about the illegal import and export of secondhand vehicles between Europe and Africa.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

None.

What's your favorite drink?

Mango juice.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Scrolling through my social media feeds.

I read a lot of publications ranging from film

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

It's not hard work because it isn't hard news.
