With an average elevation of 3,750 metres (12,300 feet) it is where most of the country’s population resides even though it covers less than a third of the total land mass.

Home › Destinations › Lake Titicaca from Peru It’s hard to believe, but after just eleven days the Peru portion of the Adventures Abroad Kingdoms of the Andes tour is coming to an end. It seems we have been here much longer as there have been so many highlights packed into that short period of time including the city of Lima, the Nazca Lines, the Ballestas Islands, Cusco and most amazingly of all, Machu Picchu.

Home › Destinations › Raqchi and Tambomachay In the last six posts from the February 2026 Kingdoms of the Andes tour by Adventures Abroad our group has been exploring the heartland of the Inca Empire including Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and enjoying a Carnival celebration in Pisac. Looking back it really has been an exceptional few days that I will never forget. However, it’s now time to move on and head for the next greatly anticipated stop, Lake Titicaca.
